The STAEDTLER 510 20 is a compact metal pencil sharpener with two holes, so one tool handles both standard and thick pencils. The smaller hole takes pencils up to 8.2 mm in diameter. The larger hole takes pencils up to 10.2 mm, which covers most coloured pencils and jumbo graphite pencils.
Each hole cuts at a different angle. The standard hole sharpens at 23°, producing a fine, controlled point for handwriting, technical drawing and detailed sketching. The larger hole sharpens at 30°, leaving a broader, softer tip that suits shading and lettering. Choose the hole that matches your pencil and the kind of work you do.
The wedge-shaped body sits steadily on a desk, and the solid metal housing holds up to daily use. Each hole offers a sharp-long setting for a long, tapered point and a blunt-short setting for a shorter, sturdier point that is less likely to snap the lead. The blade is replaceable, so the sharpener can stay in service for years rather than being thrown out when it dulls.
It is small enough for a pencil case or a desk drawer and simple enough to use without any setup.
