Every pen in this run comes out of the mould looking different, and that's the point. The Marble Ocean is Kaweco's take on the sea itself, with streaks of turquoise, deep blue and neon green suspended through translucent ABS resin.
No two barrels take up colour in quite the same ratio, so the one that arrives at your door is genuinely yours alone.
Underneath the colour, this is still a proper Kaweco pocket pen. The body is made from lightweight ABS plastic, so even at full length it barely registers in the hand, and the nib is gold-plated steel, fitted as standard and easy to unscrew if you'd rather switch it out for another size later. We're stocking this piece in fine and medium, which covers most everyday writing, from journalling to notes to letters.
What's in the box
Each pen ships with a Royal Blue ink cartridge already included, so it's ready to write straight out of the packaging. No fiddling with a converter first if you don't want to.
Size and fit
Closed, the pen measures 10.5 cm, small enough to sit in a shirt pocket or the spine of a notebook without adding bulk. Post the cap on the back to write and it extends to 12.7 cm, a comfortable length for most hands. It's 13 mm in diameter (excluding the clip) and weighs just 10.7 g, so it disappears into a bag or pencil case without adding any real weight.
Built to be used, not just admired
The nib threads on and off easily, which means if fine feels too dry for your handwriting or medium too wet, you can order a replacement nib in another size rather than buying a whole new pen. It's also worth knowing this is a limited run.
Once the current batch of Marble Ocean pens sells through, the colourway won't be repeated in the same way, so if the pattern speaks to you, it's worth picking one up rather than waiting.
