Some notebooks ask you to decide, upfront, exactly how you're going to use them. The Black Voyager doesn't. It gives you three separate 60-page inserts, lined, dot-grid and kraft paper, bound into one compact cover, so your notes, sketches and lists each get their own space without you having to carry three separate books.
The cover is a soft, flexible faux leather in a warm nutmeg brown, finished with a bronze barrel bead carrying an incised "s" pattern. It has the look and feel of a well-made leather journal without the upkeep, and it softens slightly with handling rather than cracking.
Inside, the Voyager is built for people who actually use their notebooks on the move. There's a clear storage pocket behind the front cover for loose receipts, cards or notes, and a clear zippered pouch behind the back cover for small items you don't want to lose at the bottom of a bag. Interior stretch bands hold the three inserts firmly in place, an elastic closure keeps the whole thing shut, and a protective flexi-tab along the front edge stops the pages from curling or catching.
The paper itself is 80 gsm, acid-free and archival quality, with enough tooth to take fountain pen, ballpoint or pencil cleanly. At 12.7 x 20.1cm and roughly 2.3cm thick when closed, it sits comfortably in a bag or a jacket pocket, and at around 260 g it's light enough to carry daily.
Because the Voyager uses a modular refill system, it's not a notebook you throw away once it's full. When an insert runs out, replace just that one. Voyager Refill Packs are sold separately, so you can keep using the same cover for years and simply restock the pages you go through fastest.
