Mars Lumograph Aquarell Watercolour Pencils | Metal Tin of 12
A set of 12 artist-grade watercolour pencils from STAEDTLER's Artist Series, housed in a sturdy metal tin that doubles as a travel case. These pencils work dry for precise, controlled line work, or wet for soft, flowing washes once a brush and water are introduced, making them equally useful for quick sketching and full watercolour painting.
The leads are fully water-soluble and heavily pigmented, so colour stays vivid whether it's applied straight to the page or activated with water. Each pencil has a 3.6 mm lead made with STAEDTLER's super-bonded formulation, which holds up well under sharpening and everyday use without losing its softness or colour strength.
Light-fastness is tested against the Blue Wool Scale and printed directly on each pencil, so you can see at a glance how a shade will hold up over time.
This 12-pencil tin is drawn from STAEDTLER's full range of 120 harmonised shades, which are organised using a numbering system based on the CIE-Lab colour space. Each digit in a pencil's number corresponds to a colour family, so once you understand the system, working out how shades relate to one another becomes straightforward.
