A diary and a notebook, run as one book. That's the idea behind the Rhodia 2027 Weekly Notebook Diary, and it's a simple one that works.
Open it to any week and you get a lined weekly schedule on the left hand page, and a page of Rhodia's signature graph grid on the right. The left side holds appointments, tasks, the practical shape of the week. The right side is free for notes, sketches, a running list, whatever the week actually needs that a diary column can't hold. You're not choosing between a planner and a notebook. You get both, on facing pages, every week of the year.
The paper is where Rhodia has always had an edge, and this diary uses their proper stock, not a lightweight afterthought. It's 90gsm ivory paper made in France, smooth enough for fountain pen and fine enough that marker and rollerball ink doesn't feather through to the week behind it. If you've used a Rhodia pad at the counter before, you know what that paper does under a nib. This is the same standard, bound into a year-long diary.
Inside, the diary runs January to December 2027, with monthly planning pages at the front of each month, a set of reference maps, and address pages at the back for the contacts you'd rather not keep hunting for on your phone. The cover is Italian leatherette over a hardback case, with the year embossed front and back. A matching elastic closure keeps it shut in a bag, a ribbon bookmark holds your place, and a gusseted pocket at the back is deep enough for a loose receipt, a train ticket or a business card. Corners are tear-off style rather than sharp square edges, which matters more than it sounds like once the diary has lived in a bag for a few months.
160 pages in total. A5 format, roughly 14.8 by 21 centimetres, so it sits comfortably next to an A5 refill pad or slips into most bag pockets without needing its own compartment.
This is a diary built for someone who writes by hand and wants the paper to hold up to it, whether that's a daily fountain pen habit or just a preference for ink that doesn't bleed through. It's equally at home as a work diary, a personal planner, or the one book that carries both.
