This 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle reproduces one of the most striking works by the Japanese ukiyo-e master Utagawa Kuniyoshi, depicting the underwater palace of the Dragon King. The scene draws on the legend of Tamatori-hime, the pearl diver who braved the Dragon King's realm beneath the sea to recover a stolen jewel and restore the honour of the Fujiwara clan.
Kuniyoshi returned to this story more than once during his career, and this version captures the drama of the tale with the swirling colour and bold composition he was known for.
