There is a particular kind of confidence that arrives without announcement. Signor Casanova Room Spray carries something of that quality: a fragrance that opens with vivid brightness and settles into something altogether more considered, more complex, and harder to ignore.
Crafted by Australian perfumer Simone Voss and part of the Mr Voss collection, this 150ml room spray is formulated to linger. It is not a fragrance that flares and disappears. The composition moves deliberately through its three layers, rewarding attention at every stage.
The Fragrance
The opening is immediate and energising. Bergamot, grapefruit, and lime deliver the clean, sparkling brightness of Mediterranean citrus at its peak, while armoise - a rare herbaceous oil distilled from Artemisia in the tradition of the great French perfumers - introduces an unusual dimension: fresh, faintly camphoraceous, with a bittersweet green edge that prevents the citrus from reading as simple or sweet. This is what separates an interesting fragrance from a pleasant one.
The heart brings conifer and cypress to the foreground. These are not the synthetic pine notes of functional cleaning products. These are resinous, cool, and slightly mineral, evoking dense Provençal hillside scrub rather than anything domestic. The shift from the citrus top to this green, woody heart is smooth but purposeful.
The dry-down is where Signor Casanova commits fully to its character. Labdanum, a rich resinous absolute with roots in ancient Mediterranean perfumery, provides warmth and depth. Patchouli adds earthiness without heaviness. Tonka bean closes the composition with a soft, faintly sweet warmth that makes the scent feel finished rather than merely faded.

In Use
Hold the bottle upright and spray from approximately 30cm into the centre of the room, allowing the mist to settle naturally. Two or three sprays will scent a standard room. For a softer ambient effect, spray into the air above soft furnishings rather than directly onto them.
The fragrance performs well in studies, living rooms, and bedrooms. The combination of citrus brightness and resinous depth makes it equally suitable for morning and evening use. A single application lingers for several hours.
