The design
Midori calls this collection "New Classic," and it's a fair description. Around the border of each sheet runs a flower frame pattern in red and light blue, a style of decorative rule that has been used to dress up letterpress books and printed matter for a long time. It has a nostalgic feel without being overly sweet, which makes it a good fit for adults who still like to write real letters.
Paper and printing
The letter paper is chosen specifically for letterpress work. It's soft enough to take a deep, clean impression, and the ruled lines are letterpress-printed too, so they sit with a slightly raised texture rather than a flat printed line. Because letterpress uses metal plates and physical pressure, no two sheets are identical. Small differences in ink coverage and depth of impression are part of how this process works, not a flaw.

A note on writing tools
Because the paper has a slightly soft, absorbent finish suited to letterpress printing, fountain pen ink can feather a touch depending on your ink and nib. A fine-point fountain pen or a water-based felt-tip will give the cleanest results. This paper isn't designed to go through an inkjet printer
