Jacques Herbin The Colours of Paris Softcover Notebook A5

Jacques Herbin Colours of Paris Softcover Notebook | A5 Lined | Paris Icons

Jacques Herbin has been making fine writing materials in Paris since 1670, supplying ink and sealing wax to King Louis XIV and, later, Victor Hugo. This softcover notebook is part of the Colours of Paris collection, a range of stationery designed to accompany the house's celebrated Paris-inspired ink series.

The Cover
The Paris Icons cover draws from the visual language of the city itself, depicting the landmarks and graphic motifs that have defined Paris in the popular imagination for over a century. It is a softcover format, lightweight and flexible, designed to be carried easily in a bag, jacket pocket, or alongside a notebook stack on a desk.

The Paper
This is where the notebook earns its place in a serious writing kit. Inside, 32 lined pages are printed on 120gsm ivory paper, thread-stitched into the binding for a flat, secure lay. The ivory tone is easy on the eye over long writing sessions, and the 120 g weight is substantial enough to handle fountain pen inks without ghosting or bleed-through on most nibs. It is a genuine pleasure to write on.

The paper is made in France, consistent with Jacques Herbin's long-standing commitment to French manufacture.

Pairing with Jacques Herbin Inks
The Colours of Paris notebooks are designed as companions to the Colours of Paris Ink Collection, a series of five fountain pen inks each named for a Paris landmark: Rooftops of Paris (grey), Rue de la Verrerie (blue), Moulin Rouge (red), Paris Metro (green), and Eiffel Tower (yellow ochre). The ivory paper shows these ink colours particularly well, warm without distorting the hue.
