Tabac Man Gravity is an oriental woody fragrance for men, launched in 2021 and created by perfumer Jacques Huclier under the Mäurer & Wirtz licence. It is a fragrance that sits outside the current mainstream, built on a structure that feels more considered than most of what lines pharmacy shelves today.
The Scent
The opening is defined by lavender oil, a grapefruit accord and the house's proprietary stardust accord, a mineral freshness with clean, aldehydic nuances. The stardust accord itself is made up of several elements, rose, aldehydes and musk, giving the top an unusual clarity that is neither aquatic nor sweet.
The heart introduces geranium oil, coriander seed oil and oud accords, a combination that manages to feel both classical and uncommon. The coriander adds a dry, slightly spiced warmth, while the geranium softens what could otherwise tip into austerity. The oud here is an accord rather than a raw material, so it reads as depth and woodiness rather than smoke or resin.
The base settles into patchouli oil, musk and tonka bean, grounding the mineral freshness of the opening in something warmer and more skin-close.
Character and Wearability
This is a fragrance with a distinctly masculine character, though not an aggressive one. Wearers describe it as versatile, slightly barbershop in feel, fresh and warm at once, with a soft rose quality that is never overtly floral. Projection is moderate and the scent wears closer to the skin as it develops, making it well suited to daily wear in professional or social settings.
The Bottle
The flacon and box are presented in a deep Pantone blue. The bottle itself follows the classic Tabac silhouette, solid and substantial in the hand, with a well-constructed spray mechanism that doses consistently.

Tabac is one of the older fragrance houses, with its earliest edition dating to 1959. Mäurer & Wirtz, the German manufacturer behind the brand, has maintained continuous production of the original Tabac through decades of shifting fragrance trends. Gravity represents the contemporary direction of the Tabac Man line, bringing the house's characteristic attention to aromatic structure into a more modern register.
