Rhodia Touch Mixed Media Sketchpad A5+ Portrait
A sketchpad built for paper that actually has to do something, not just sit there looking nice. The Rhodia Touch Mixed Media Sketchpad uses Clairefontaine's Paint'On paper, a heavyweight 250gsm sheet with a light, even grain that was developed specifically for artists who move between techniques rather than sticking to one. Pencil and charcoal sit cleanly on the surface, while gouache, ink and acrylic are absorbed without the paper buckling or the colour bleeding through to the next page.
Each pad holds 20 sheets of extra-white, 100% cellulose paper, finished to a true A5+ portrait format (160 x 210mm), so there's enough working space without the pad becoming bulky in a bag or a studio drawer. The sheets are microperforated for clean, controlled removal, which matters if you're planning to frame a piece, mail it, or simply pull out a single page without tearing the next one.
The pad itself is glued along the top edge over a canvas-backed spine, a binding method that keeps the block rigid enough to draw on without a hard surface underneath. It's finished with a Maya black cover embossed with the Rhodia Touch logo, giving it a quietly professional look whether it's being used in a studio or carried to a life drawing class.
The paper is acid-free and pH-neutral, so finished work won't yellow or degrade over time, and the whole pad is PEFC certified, meaning the pulp comes from responsibly managed forests. Made in France, where Clairefontaine has been producing paper since the 19th century.
