A fountain pen is only as good as its nib, and this is the genuine article. The Rhodia replacement nib for the scRipt fountain pen is the same German-made iridium nib fitted to the pen at the factory, so there are no compromises in feel or performance once it's seated.
Whether you're switching between nib sizes to suit different papers and writing styles, or replacing a nib that's seen years of daily use, this is the straightforward solution. No guesswork, no compatibility concerns.
The nib
The iridium nib is embossed with the Rhodia logo and nib width, a considered detail that keeps things visually coherent with the pen itself. The nibs are made in Germany, where quality control and consistency in nib manufacture are taken seriously. The tipping is smooth from the first stroke, with the kind of flow that rewards a relaxed, unhurried hand.
Available in four widths
-
EF (Extra Fine) - A precise, controlled line suited to small handwriting, detailed note-taking, or writers who prefer minimal ink spread. Works particularly well on Rhodia's own dot and grid papers, where the ruled spacing rewards a finer mark.
-
F (Fine) - The fine nib writes at around 0.5 to 0.7mm, comparable to a Lamy or other European fine — a versatile width that handles everyday correspondence and journalling with equal ease.
-
M (Medium) - A broader, more expressive line that shows off ink shading and sheen to better effect. Well suited to deliberate, considered writing rather than rapid note-taking.
B (Broad) -The Broad is the most expressive of the three widths available. It lays down a generous line that suits slower, deliberate handwriting and responds well to paper with some texture or weight. On quality stock - Rhodia, Clairefontaine - it produces a clean, wet stroke with good shading if the ink supports it. It is not a nib for tight spaces or small handwriting, but for those who write with intention and want the line to reflect that, it earns its place. The Broad also pairs well with inks that have strong colour saturation or interesting shading properties, since the wider channel gives the ink more room to behave.
Compatibility
This nib fits the Rhodia scRipt fountain pen exclusively. It is not a universal nib and is not designed to fit other pen bodies. If you are unsure which nib is currently in your pen, the width is embossed on the nib itself.
