The cover
The soft, leather-like cover is imported and finished in deep black, with the word "Guests" embossed in a framed panel on the front. It has the quiet authority of something that belongs on a hall table or reception desk - not decorative for its own sake, but considered. The book-bound hardcover opens completely flat, which matters more than it sounds when you have a queue of guests waiting to write.
The pages
Inside, 96 acid-free pages are lightly ruled in a pale grey that guides the eye without intruding. Each page accommodates four entries, giving space for a name, address, and a short message or memory - up to approximately 380 entries in total. The ivory-toned paper is smooth and substantial, taking fountain pen, rollerball, and fine-tip ballpoint with equal grace. There is no feathering, no bleed-through. Black endpapers frame the interior and reinforce the overall sense of finish.
A black satin ribbon bookmark keeps the current page to hand, so arriving guests don't have to leaf through to find their place.
