The eraser on a Blackwing pencil is not an afterthought. It is part of what makes the pencil so considered. Square rather than round, housed in a sliding metal clip that sits inside the ferrule, it reflects the same deliberate thinking that goes into every other element of the Blackwing's design. When it wears down, you replace it, and the pencil continues.
That is exactly what these are for.
Each pack contains ten erasers, designed to work with the Blackwing ferrule and eraser clip system. The replacement process is straightforward: slide the eraser and clip out of the ferrule, remove the clip from the worn eraser, seat the new eraser into the clip, and reinsert the assembly into the ferrule. It takes seconds, and the pencil is ready again.
The erasers are latex-free and feature a dust-free formulation. As you erase, the residue gathers into clumps rather than scattering across the page, which makes cleanup easier and keeps your work surface cleaner. Performance is best suited to light corrections on everyday writing and drafting rather than heavy-handed reworking of dense graphite passages.
Beyond function, there is the matter of personalisation. The erasers are available in traditional black, white, and pink, as well as blue, orange, green, yellow, grey, and red. Changing the eraser colour is one of the simplest ways to distinguish your pencils from one another, or simply to suit your own taste. A white eraser on a Blackwing 602 reads differently to a pink one, and that is entirely the point.
The erasers are compatible with any Blackwing pencil model. Whether you are working through a box of Matts, Pearls, Naturals, or a limited Volumes edition, the same replacement fits all.
