Jacques Herbin Round Glass Pen

Color: Navy Blue

Elevate ink testing, calligraphy practice, and personal correspondence with the Jacques Herbin Round Glass Pen—an elegant, hand‑blown dip pen designed for smooth, expressive writing and effortless ink changes.

Why this pen stands out
• Spiral glass nib holds more ink
• The fine glass tip is twisted in a light spiral, creating tiny grooves that act as a reservoir—enough to write several lines to a full paragraph before re‑dipping, depending on ink and paper.
• Clean, fast ink swapping
• Ideal for sampling fountain pen inks: dip, write, wipe, rinse—no flushing required.
• Hand‑blown and unique
• Each pen is individually made, so subtle variations in form and flow add character to every piece.
• Comfortable round body
• The round spiral body and ergonomic grip make the pen easy to hold during longer swatching or note‑taking sessions.
• Gift‑ready presentation
• Arrives in a branded presentation box—perfect for gifting to writers, artists, and stationery lovers.

What it’s great for
• Swatching and comparing inks quickly without inking a fountain pen.
• Calligraphy drills, signatures, and decorative headings using fountain pen or dip‑pen inks.
• Desk display—its clear, sculptural form is a conversation piece.

How to use
1. Dip the spiral nib about 1–2cm into bottled ink, then tap or roll the nib along the bottle rim to remove excess.
2. Write with a light hand; re‑dip when lines begin to thin as the reservoir empties.
3. Wipe clean with a tissue and, if changing colours, rinse briefly and dry before the next ink.

Paper and ink tips
• Works best with fountain pen inks; thicker calligraphy inks may need dilution for smooth flow.
• Choose high‑quality, ink‑resistant paper (e.g., Rhodia, Clairefontaine, G. Lalo) to minimise feathering and show off shading and sheen.

Care and longevity
• Glass pens are rigid and provide audible feedback compared to fountain pens—this is normal for the medium.
• Handle carefully to avoid knocks; store in the included box when not in use.
• Nib smoothing is optional; if desired, use very fine abrasive (e.g., 400‑grit recommended by Herbin or finer micro‑mesh) sparingly—sanding broadens the line and is permanent.
